This milestone marks the occasion for a comprehensive presentation of Gugging Art across the entire exhibition space of the museum and serves as the highlight of the anniversary year.

The exhibition focuses on 20 Gugging artists, with the works of August Walla and Johann Hauser featured prominently. August Walla would have celebrated his 90th birthday in 2026, Johann Hauser his 100th. Additionally, the exhibition will address the 40th anniversary of the “House of Artists”.

The anniversary also serves as an opportunity to position the museum as a driving force for transparency and openness at the Gugging site. Inclusive museum work will be given special emphasis.

The Gugging artists and their works are fixed stars of contemporary Austrian art with international resonance. Since the post-war period, artworks have been created in Gugging that Jean Dubuffet, the founder of Art Brut, attributed to this genre.
