An introduction to the classical and contemporary Gugging artists and their art.

This new publication by Nina Ansperger, who took over as director of museum gugging in 2023, vividly presents the diversity of Gugging's oeuvre. While the history of art in Gugging is highlighted first, the artists - both those from the well-known first generation and contemporary ones - are at the centre of this work.

From the large-format canvases of August Walla and the pastel-coloured collages of Karl Vondal to the small-format overdrawings of Leopold Strobl, the book offers a compact overview of the art that has been created on this small hill on the edge of the Vienna Woods in Klosterneuburg. Fifteen artists and their art are the focus of this publication. Icluded are artists such as  Laila Bachtiar, Leonhard Fink, Johann Garber, Leopold Strobl and August Walla.
