The spring exhibition at galerie gugging creates a dialog between seven artists dedicated to eroticism. 

A well-established art-historical theme is taken up again here and has not been lost on the artists of Gugging.

Both Johann Garber's ”sexi papers“ , captured in Indian ink, and Johann Korec's self-portraits as part of a pair of naked lovers, which he captured in both paintings and drawings, deal with eroticism. The final Gugging artist in this exhibition, Karl Vondal, also favoured the depiction of libidinous scenes. While his works initially tended to be in pastel colors, towards the end of his career they often depicted love scenes in bold colors. Both Korec and Vondal liked to add written stories to their works, which can be read from the sheets themselves. 

The bold works of Basel Al-Bazzaz, whose depictions of naked women capture oriental fantasies of longing, enter into a dialog with these Guggingers. In addition, there are works by feminist artist and poet Helga Sophie Goetze, who held a daily hour-long "vigil" in front of the Berlin Memorial Church to spread her mission “Fucking is peace!” to the world. Hannes Lehner depicts muscular naked men against a bold monochrome background, while Julia Hanzl has conquered three-dimensional space and created sexy ceramics and mixed media sculptures to round off the exhibition.
